According to The Hollywood Reporter musician turned actor, Ashanti, has signed on for a role in John Tucker Must Die, a film described by the trade as a high school take on The First Wives Club, revolving around a trio of girls from different social groups who band together to seek revenge on the school's resident stud who has broken their hearts. They set him up to fall for the new girl in town, just so she can dump him and break his heart.

Ashanti will play one of the trio as will Sophia Bush ("One Tree Hill"), while Brittany Snowwill play the new girl in town and Jesse Metcalfe will play the title character and Betty Thomas will be directing a script from Jeff Lowell.

Ashanti recently made her feature film debut in Coach Carter.
