"Starship Dave" is now launching at 20th Century Fox, with Eddie Murphy on board to star and helmer Peter Segal to direct.
 
Project had been at Paramount.

Story is about a crew of miniature human-looking aliens who are seeking a way to save their doomed world.

Murphy is lined up to lense "Norbit" for DreamWorks. Segal last directed the football remake "The Longest Yard".

The last sci-fi film Murphy did was the critically panned "The Adventures of Pluto Nash".
